In our case for particular characteristic nothing is changing except 'Description'.
To add new characteristic is a option but it didn't look possible as system will not allow to delete old characteristic as it will be present in open batches, also we have interface with third party tool so to add new characteristic will need to change program.
Due to above reasons I am looking for the possibility in SAP if there is way to achieve it and waiting for experts comments on it.
