launch pad missing? NWBC 5.0

How do I get the new launch pad to work ? (such as index, frequently used transactions, last used transaction, index, work center, etc).

After installing NWBC 5.0 and setting up the connection to our DEV environment, I dont see anything different except new tab like screen and theme change as shown in screenshot 1&2.

Do I have to set up 'new system connection(NWBC) and get up the URL in the system selection for these features to work?
