one of our ByD customers needs to import product catalogue items with several thousand items.
He wants to update this catalogues regularly to provide the newest supplier products.
A product catalogue can have up to 500.000 items in the worst case.
We are having problems to upload large catalogues like that with the import function for supplier catalogs. The data size of the import file already extends the maximum upload size of 20 MB. We expect to have files up to 35 MB.
Even smaler files with less than 20 MB cannot be uploaded within one day, then they are canceled automatically.
Now we want to check different strategies to handle the data load.
We thought about using excel and integrated webservice calls to upload the data, but I think excel will also be stressed with that data load.
Another idea was to use WebDAV.
It would be great if someone could share his experience with data import for such a mass of data.
Is it possible that we provide faster data uploads like the default catalogue import by using the webservice or the WebDAV Interface?
What is the best practice in this case?
