QUnit vs OPA: which one for which use case?

Hi all,

I'm delighted to see the amount of attention that has been put into documenting the best practices for testing UI5 applications (as well as into creating the test tools themselves )

I've gone through the online documentation at SAPUI5 SDK - Demo Kit

Still, I'm unsure which framework should be used for which use case.

My gut feeling is the following:

  • OPA has tighter integration with UI5, might provide a bit more limited testing, but require less effort in creation of tests
  • QUnit looks more powerful, more complex and with more flexibility comes more time spent setting up and maintaining tests

For the purpose of testing web applications based on the new Fiori concept, I'm not sure which one would be more suitable.

In particular testing could happen both for on premise apps and HTML5 apps based on the new WebIDE.

Assuming that mock servers and dummy odata/rest calls with canned data could be faked through both frameworks (please correct me here if I'm wrong), which one is best for which use case?

Thanks a lot, regards

Vincenzo
