Hi Neeraja,
For UI5 : Knowledge on HTML5, Javascript and CSS is a must. If someone has worked on Java, or SAP EP she/he can grasp faster.
For ABAPers only high level knowledge is fine, where the gateway services are configured in the UI5 code. Knowledge on SAP gateway is a must for ABAPer in that case.
