Sorry mate, I did not understand well your inquiry..

So you have 2 objects? Sales Date and Start Date? Am I right?

If yest, just go to filter tab of bex query designer and filter the START DATE with this:

START DATE >= 2013

So that whatever SALES DATE were chosen by the user, whether 2011 or not, data having START DATE starting with 2013 should be only shown in the report..
